PREMIER BET PUMPS MK7.5M TOWARDS MALAWI SPORTS AWARDS

Premier Bet aids MK7.5m towards Malawi Sport awards has on Tuesday, 21st January 2025 donated MK7.5 million channeled to Malawi Sport awards slated for Sunbird Nkopola in Mangochi on 28th February.

Premier bet’ manager Hamza Mhaye said during a pressing briefing in Blantyre that the company believes the accolades are part of sports development in the country.

“The outstanding athletes and officials are honoured through this initiative and we are proud to be part in something that recognises sports talents of people that live in areas we operate”, said Mhaye.

Sports Council Director of planning, marketing and infrastructure development Limbani Matola whose body organises the annual awards, said they were happy and excited to Premier bet for responding to their request for partnership.

“We thank Premier Bet for the kid gesture which will go a long way in making the event a success. We need a substantial amount of money to host the awards and hope others will replicate what Premier Bet has done”, echoes Matola.

Matola further revealed that, the nomination process for the awards, whose theme is cerebrating Sporting Excellence has been completed and they are now going synchronization.

Almost fourteen (14) Sporting categories will be contested at the awards, including the Junior female Sportsperson of the year (U20), Junior Male Sportsperson of the year (Under 20), National team of the year, Best Executed Sport Development Programme of the year, Sports Woman of the year with disability, Sportsman of the year with disability, Sports woman of the year, Sportsman of the year, Coach of the year, Sports administrator of the year, Sports person of the year, Sports Association of the year. Sports journalist of the year print and electronic.

The Malawi Sports Awards aim to recognize, celebrate, and reward outstanding achievements by coaches, athletes, officials, teams and organizations in promoting and developing sports across the country.
