Malawi’s TNM Super League giants, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, have secured a one-year loan extension for Nigerian forward Babatunde Adepoju from South Africa’s Championship side, Venda Academy.

Babatunde was set to return to Venda Academy following the expiration of his initial one-year loan deal at the end of the 2024 season.

However, both clubs reached an agreement to prolong his stay in Malawi, much to the delight of Bullets’ supporters.

The forward had also attracted interest from city rivals Mighty Mukuru Wanderers and Central Region contenders Creck Sporting Club.

Speaking after the announcement, an elated Babatunde expressed his gratitude.

“I am very excited to extend my stay with the club. Bullets is where I have achieved a lot, and my heart has always been with Bullets,” he said.

In addition to Babatunde’s deal, Bullets announced a one-and-a-half-year contract extension for midfielder Mike “Digital” Mkwate.

Mkwate, who had been sidelined for nearly two years due to a serious injury, underwent successful surgery and impressed new head coach Peter Mponda enough to secure the contract renewal.

Meanwhile, defenders Gomezgani Chirwa and Nickson Nyasulu have officially parted ways with FCB Nyasa Big Bullets.
